SM Energy Co., Denver, has appointed Beth McDonald as its executive vice-president and chief operating officer, effective Sept. 9, 2024.
McDonald most recently served as executive vice-president – strategic planning, field development, and marketing for Pioneer Natural Resources Co. McDonald served at Pioneer for about 20 in roles of increasing responsibility, holding leadership positions focusing on both the Permian basin and South Texas. Prior to joining Pioneer, she held various engineering roles at Hess Corp. and Total E&P USA.
