David H. Sweeney has joined Akin Gump as a partner in the law firm’s energy practice in Houston.
He had been a partner with K&L Gates.
Earlier, he was vice-president, legal and general counsel of Van Dyke Energy Co. and assistant general counsel and chief compliance officer of a US subsidiary of Lukoil. He returned to private practice in 2014.
