Phillips named FERC Acting Chairman
President Biden has named Willie Phillips acting chairman of the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
Chairman Rich Glick stepped down Jan. 3 after 5 years at the Commission.
Acting Chairman Phillips joined FERC in December 2021 to a Commission term that ends June 30, 2026 (OGJ Online, Sept. 20, 2021). Prior to joining FERC, he served as chairman of the Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia (DCPSC), a position he held since 2018 after serving on the DCPSC since 2014.
Prior to the DCPSC, Phillips served as assistant general counsel for the North American Electric Reliability Corp. (NERC), in Washington, DC. Before joining NERC, Phillips, an attorney, advised clients on energy regulatory compliance and policy matters.
