Petrobras names interim CEO

Petrobras has nominated João Henrique Rittershaussen as interim chief executive officer following the early termination of Caio Mário Paes de Andrade's term as chief executive.

Petróleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) has nominated João Henrique Rittershaussen as interim chief executive officer following the early termination of Caio Mário Paes de Andrade's term as chief executive of the company and resignation from the board of directors, effective Jan. 4.

Paes de Andrade was elected as chief executive officer in June 2022 and had been expected to hold the position until April of this year (OGJ Online, June 27, 2022).

Rittershaussen, the company’s chief of production and development, will hold the interim position until the election and inauguration of a new chief executive, the company said in a release Jan. 4.
