Trans Mountain Corp., Calgary, has appointed Dawn Farrell to the position of president and chief executive officer and member of the board of directors, effective Aug. 15, 2022.
Farrell brings over 35 years of experience in the energy business, having held various senior level positions. She most recently served as president and chief executive officer of TransAlta Corp.
Rob Van Walleghem, who had served as interim president since April, will continue in a senior executive leadership role, the company said in an Aug. 10 release.
Trans Mountain Corp. operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast, delivering about 300,000 b/d of petroleum products through 1,150 km of pipeline in Alberta and British Columbia, and 111 km of pipeline in Washington state.
The Trans Mountain expansion project involves installing about 980 km of new pipeline, new and modified infrastructure including pump stations and terminals, and a new dock complex at the Westridge Marine Terminal in Burnaby, BC.
The expansion project entered its second phase in February and, after 12 years of planning and construction, is about 60% complete, Farrell said (OGJ Online, Feb. 18, 2022).
