Talon Energy Ltd., Sydney, appointed Colby Hauser as managing director and chief executive officer, effective Mar. 8. He succeeds David Casey, who transitioned to executive director late-2021.
Hauser most recently held the position of general manager, commercial at Strike Energy Ltd. Strike is operator of EP447, which contains the prospective Walyering gas project.
Talon holds 45% participating interest in the license and participated in the Walyering-5 appraisal well drilled at the end of 2021 (OGJ Online, July 20, 2020; Dec. 6, 2021). Flow testing is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
In addition to testing the Walyering-5 gas discovery, the company expects it maiden drilling and testing campaign at the Gurvantes XXXV coal bed methane project in Mongolia to begin “in the very near term,” the company said in the Mar. 8 release.
