NZEC names Willis to dual role of chairman, chief executive

New Zealand Energy Corp. has named James Willis, current chairman (non-executive) as chief executive officer. The company's former chief executive officer, Michael Adams, will serve the company as a consultant.

New Zealand Energy Corp. has named James Willis, current chairman (non-executive) as chief executive officer. Chairman since March 2015, Willis will serve in the dual role as the company’s former chief executive officer, Michael Adams, takes on the role of consultant. Adams had led the company as chief executive officer for the last 5 years.

NZEC is advancing work at Waihapa-Ngaere fields to restore gas-lift from the four primary producers. The detailed design for the installation of a "right-sized' gas-lift compressor for use at the Waihapa Production Station is progressing. Subject to there being no on-going operations restrictions from New Zealand's latest COVID-19 lockdown, the company aims to return to continuous oil and gas production from these wells by yearend, it noted in a Sept 24 release.

The Copper Moki secondary recovery expansion project, to enable increased water injection support, is expected to be online by end 2021.

The company is currently processing Tariki 3D seismic survey data acquired from at the start this year’s third quarter.
