Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) is responding to a fire at the Nohoch A oil platform at the Bay of Campeche in the Gulf of Mexico and has reported injuries to six workers.
At 5:25 a.m., July 7, there was a fire outbreak at the Nohoch – A link platform and later at the compression platform, the company said in a release July 7. The emergency shutdown system was activated and four boats were sent to control the fire, the company said.
From the processing center, 321 of 328 workers have been evacuated with the support of seven boats. So far, six people have been reported injured.
The Emergency Care and Management Group in Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, is in permanent session attending to the emergency.
PEMEX said it will continue to report updates throughout the day.
