India launches new bid round, lists winners of previous round

India’s Directorate General of Hydrocarbons launched OALP Bid Round-VIII July 7, offering 10 blocks for international competitive bidding, the agency in a release, shortly after listing winners for OALP-VII.
India’s Directorate General of Hydrocarbons launched OALP Bid Round-VIII July 7, offering 10 blocks for international competitive bidding, the agency in a release, shortly after listing winners for OALP-VII.
Oil and Natural Gas Corp. (ONGC) was awarded three blocks in OALP-VII (Assam-Arakan Fold Belt, Satpura-South RewaDamodar, Cauvery) and Oil India Ltd (OIL) won two blocks in Assam Shelf basin. GAIL was awarded one block in Rajasthan basin and Sun Petrochemicals Pvt Ltd. was awarded the remaining two blocks in Cambay basin.
Blocks in OALP-VIII cover nine sedimentary basins covering about 36,316 sq km and include two onshore blocks, four shallow water blocks, two deepwater blocks, and two ultra deepwater blocks. Bids for the new round are due by Sept. 6, 2022.
