Hilcorp signed a deal to expand its portfolio of upstream assets in Alaska.

Hilcorp Energy Co., one of the largest private oil and gas exploration and production companies in the US, signed a binding agreement to acquire 100% of the Nikaitchuq and Oooguruk oil fields owned by Eni in Alaska.

Hilcorp first entered Alaska in 2011. In 2020, the operator expanded from Cook Inlet to the North Slope’s Prudhoe Bay. The company has over 950,000 gross acres under production in Alaska with more than 1,700 producing wells across the state producing 135,000 boe/d.

In a press release June 27, Eni said the value of the deal will be announced upon its closing.

The deal is subject to appropriate regulatory approvals and other customary terms and conditions.
