A. T. (Tim) Cejka, president, ExxonMobil Exploration Co., and vice president, Exxon Mobil Corp., has elected to retire on Aug. 31, 2010, after more than 34 years of service.
It is expected that the board of directors of Exxon Mobil Corp. will appoint S. M. (Steve) Greenlee as president of ExxonMobil Exploration Co. and elect him a vice president of the corporation effective Sept. 1, 2010. Greenlee is currently president, ExxonMobil Upstream Research Co. It is also expected that the board of ExxonMobil Upstream Research Co. will elect S. N. (Sara) Ortwein as president effective Sept. 1, 2010. Ortwein is currently vice president engineering, ExxonMobil Development Co. Cejka joined Exxon Co. in 1975. He held a number of technical and management positions in Exxon Co. USA and Exxon Corp. before being named vice president of Exxon Ventures Inc. in 1993. Cejka became vice president for geoscience for the Caspian and Middle East regions for ExxonMobil Exploration Co. in 1999. He was appointed executive vice president of ExxonMobil Exploration Co. in 2001 and became president in 2004. Greenlee joined Exxon Production Research Co. in 1981 after receiving a bachelor's degree from Duke University and a master's degree from the University of Rhode Island. He held several research and supervisory positions with Exxon Production Research Co. before moving to Exxon Ventures Inc. in 1993 where he had supervisory responsibilities for Western Siberia and Kazakhstan. He held additional management positions at Exxon Co., ExxonMobil Exploration Co., and Exxon Mobil Corp. He was elected president of ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company in June 2009. Ortwein joined Exxon Co. as a drilling engineer in 1980 after receiving a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas. She held several engineering, technical, and management positions of increasing responsibility at Exxon Co., USA, Exxon Ventures Inc. and ExxonMobil Production Co. She was named vice president of engineering for ExxonMobil Development Co. in 2006.
Total E&P makes promotions
Total Exploration & Production has made changes to its management team. Michael Borrell, previously vice president, Caspian and Central Asia, has been named senior vice president, Continental Europe and Central Asia. He succeeds Arnaud Breuillac, who has been named senior vice president, Middle East, replacing Ladislas Paszkiewicz. Paszkiewicz succeeds Michel Seguin as senior vice president, Americas. Seguin has been appointed special advisor to the president of Total Exploration & Production. Borrell, Breuillac & Paszkiewicz serve as members of the management committee. Borrell joined Total in 1985. Breuillac joined Total in 1981. Paszkiewicz joined Total in 1985. Seguin joined Total in 1972.
Colfax names Roller exec VP, Colfax Americas
Colfax Corp. has promoted William E. Roller to executive vice president of Colfax Americas. He was most recently senior vice president and general manager of Colfax Americas. He will be responsible for the company's operations in the Americas, as well as its global oil and gas and Colfax Defense Solutions organizations. Roller joined Colfax in 1999, as general manager of Imo Pump. Prior to his tenure with Colfax, he was senior vice president of manufacturing and distribution for Precision Auto Care, from 1997 to 1999. He holds an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and a bachelor's degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Colfax is a provider of critical fluid-handling products and technologies. Through its subsidiaries, Colfax manufactures positive displacement industrial pumps and valves used in the oil and gas industry.
Bill Barrett makes leadership change
Joe Jaggers, COO, president and director of Bill Barrett Corp., has resigned to become the president and CEO of Ute Energy LLC, a recently recapitalized oil and gas company. R. Scot Woodall, formerly executive vice president - operations, has assumed the role of COO and chairman of the board. CEO Fred Barrett has assumed the role of president in addition to his other duties. Woodall has 26 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He joined Bill Barrett Corp. in 2007. Prior to that, he served in senior roles at Forest Oil Corp. from 2000 to 2007.
Following merger, Butler leaves XTO VP post
Following the recent merger between ExxonMobil and XTO Energy, XTO vice president and assistant treasurer William Butler is leaving the company. Butler had been with XTO for the past seven years. Butler's resignation is effective July 15.
Bracewell & Giuliani plans Seattle office
Bracewell & Giuliani LLP will open a Seattle office to better serve its client base in the US Pacific Northwest and Western Canada. Dave Domansky, formerly head of the energy practice at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, joined the firm as a partner. Based in the Seattle office, he will focus on energy project development and finance, with a particular focus in renewable energy. Also based in the Seattle office will be Bracewell partners Paul Fox, co-head of the firm's energy regulatory practice, who will become Seattle office managing partner, and Lance Behnke, a tax partner who is already a resident in Seattle. Fox and Behnke collectively have more than 30 years of experience representing US and Canadian clients in the Pacific Northwest.
Quicksilver Resources expands operating team
Fort Worth-based Quicksilver Resources Inc. has made changes to its operating management team. Stan Page has been named senior vice president, US operations. Page joined Quicksilver in October 2007 as vice president, US operations, primarily responsible for development of the company's Fort Worth Basin Barnett Shale operations. In his new role, Page will be responsible for all US operations including the company's expanding activities in the Greater Green River Basin of northern Colorado and Wyoming and the Alberta Bakken Basin in western Montana. Joe Farley has been named vice president, Rocky Mountain and New Ventures operations. In this newly created role, Farley will be responsible for exploration, development, and exploitation of the company's opportunities in the Greater Green River and Alberta Bakken basins. Farley, who joined Quicksilver in 1996, previously served as senior vice president and COO of Quicksilver Resources Canada Inc. Dave Rushford will join Quicksilver as senior vice president and COO of Quicksilver Resources Canada Inc. He most recently he served as vice president — business services for Cenovus Energy Inc.
Ingrain names new CEO
Ingrain, a digital rock physics company, has promoted Marcus Ganz to CEO. Ganz joined Ingrain in January 2010 as COO. Henrique Tono, Ingrain co-founder, is departing the CEO post to serve as chairman of the company's board of directors. Ganz joined Ingrain after 29 years of international experience at Schlumberger and WesternGeco. Ganz served as a member of the executive team managing WesternGeco and served as vice president of the land product line and later vice president and regional manager responsible for all activities in South America. From 2006 to 2008 he was the general manager of Schlumberger Oilfield Services for Argentina and Chile. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Southampton, UK.
Delta promotes Lakey to CEO as Wallace resigns
Delta Petroleum Corp. has promoted Carl Lakey to CEO. Before being named CEO, Lakey served as senior vice president of operations and has been with the company since 2007. Prior to joining the company, Lakey spent six years managing operations at El Paso Production Co. and 16 years in various positions at ExxonMobil. Delta's president and COO, John R. Wallace, has agreed to resign from the company as an officer and director to pursue other interests.
Chisholm succeeds Dumas as Flotek chairman
Jerry Dumas has resigned as chairman of Flotek Industries Inc. Dumas, also Flotek's CEO, is retiring from the company as a whole after over 10 years at the company. President John Chisholm has replaced Dumas in the role of chairman of the Houston-based company.
Apache promotes Carmony to VP — EH&S
Apache Corp. has promoted David Carmony to vice president - Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S). Carmony has been the Gulf Coast Region's vice president - Drilling, Production and Construction Engineering since 2006, having served as the region's drilling and production engineering manager since 2003. He joined Apache in 1993. Previously, Carmony was a production, drilling, and reservoir engineer for Pacific Enterprises Oil Co. and Terra Resources, and a production engineer for Mitchell Energy. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma.
Blewden to replace Hornby-Smith as Sterling CFO
Sterling Resources Ltd. has appointed David Blewden to the position of CFO, replacing Ian Hornby-Smith who is retiring. The appointment coincides with Sterling's plan to move the CFO role to the UK. Blewden assumes his new role on August 2, 2010, subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval. From 2008 until earlier in 2010, Blewden served as CFO of PetroSaudi International. From 2006 to 2008 he served as CFO of African Arabian Petroleum. Blewden holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from Trinity College, Cambridge, England.
Harvey Bryant resigns as Bedford Energy CEO
Harvey S. Bryant, president and CEO of Oklahoma City-based Bedford Energy Inc. has resigned. Bruce Scambler will replace him as president and CEO. Scambler will also serve as the chairman of the board. Bryant will remain a consultant to the company and will continue to serve on the board.
