FMC Technologies makes management promotions
FMC Technologies Inc. has named John T. Gremp to the role of president and COO and appointed Robert L. Potter executive vice president of energy systems. Gremp succeeds Peter D. Kinnear as president. Since joining the company in 1975, Gremp has served in a variety of operations management roles, most recently as executive vice president of energy systems. Potter will succeed Gremp in that role. Previously, Potter was senior vice president of FMC's energy processing and global surface wellhead businesses. Potter has been with the company since 1973. The company has also promoted Maryann T. Seaman from vice president, administration, to vice president, treasurer and deputy CFO. Mark J. Scott will succeed Seaman as vice president, administration. Seaman joined the company in 1986. Scott most recently served as senior vice president, human resources at Dresser Inc.

Anadarko Petroleum CEO named ANGA chairman
America's Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA) has selected Jim Hackett, chairman and CEO of Anadarko Petroleum, as the Alliance's new chairman. Hackett has more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry and has served as Anadarko's top executive since 2003. Hackett succeeds David Trice, ANGA's founding chairman, who recently retired as president and CEO of Newfield Exploration Co. and now serves as the company's non-executive chairman. Before joining Anadarko, Hackett served as president and COO of Devon Energy. Hackett also serves as chairman of the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
Raymond James exec joins Vess Oil as CFO
Wichita, Kansas-based Vess Oil Corp. has named Barry Hill vice president and CFO. Hill previously served as vice president with Raymond James in the Energy Investment Banking group. Privately-held Vess Oil Corp. is an independent oil and gas company that acquires, exploits, develops, and explores for crude oil and natural gas, primarily in the Permian Basin and Mid-Continent regions of the US. The company and its affiliates manage over 1,400 oil and gas wells in the Mid-Continent Area marketing over 165,000 boe per month. Vess Oil Corp. ranked No. 72 by BOE in January's installment of the OGFJ100P.
Ithaca Energy names CFO
Ithaca Energy has named Graham Forbes CFO. He succeeds Norman Wood who had held the position of interim CFO since December 2009 following Steven Turner's retirement. Forbes spent the early part of his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers before moving to ExxonMobil. Forbes subsequently joined First Oil in 2002 as finance director and was promoted, in 2007, to executive director.
Copano Energy names Wade president, COO of Texas operating segment
Houston-based midstream natural gas company Copano Energy LLC has appointed James E. Wade senior vice president of Copano and president and COO of the company's Texas operating segment subsidiaries. Wade will report to R. Bruce Northcutt, Copano's president and CEO, and will assume Northcutt's responsibilities for the day-to-day operating activities and business initiatives in Texas. Wade joins Copano with over 25 years of commercial business development, gas supply and marketing experience in the energy industry. Most recently, he served as vice president, gas supply, marketing and business development for Southern Union Gas Services. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas and serves as chairman of the Texas Pipeline Association.
Bodino to lead energy research for Global Hunter
New Orleans-based investment bank Global Hunter Securities welcomes Michael D. Bodino to the company as managing director and head of energy research. Bodino brings nearly 20 years of energy industry experience, most recently as co-head of research and senior E&P analyst with Madison Williams and Co. At Madison Williams, Bodino covered companies ranging in market capitalization from $100 million to $30 billion and was responsible for commodity price forecasts and all macro economic energy data, including identifying trends that shape energy sector investments.Bodino earned an MBA degree from Texas Christian University and a bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University.
Morgan Keegan & Co.expands energy practice
Morgan Keegan & Co. Inc. has added Barry R. Donovan and Michael S. Chevalier-White to the firm's Investment Banking Group as managing directors. Donovan and White were co-founders and principals of Paragon Advising, a Houston-based investment bank providing corporate finance advisory services to companies in the energy industry. Prior to founding Paragon Advising, Donovan spent 10 years at Simmons & Co. International where he served as director of corporate finance and director of client services. He holds 19 years of investment banking experience and has advised on over 120 M&A transactions, financings and other strategic assignments within the energy service industry. Chevalier-White has 20 years of combined energy investment banking and public accounting experience. He was previously with Ernst & Young for 11 years, where he was senior manager in Assurance and Advisory Business Services and served in the firm's national accounting office. Morgan Keegan Investment Banking offers comprehensive merger and acquisition advisory services and equity and debt capital-raising services to both the public and private sector.
Lamprell promotes Hand, Whitbread retires
Chris Hand has been promoted to COO of Lamprell plc. Hand joined Lamprell in 1996 and was promoted to vice president commercial in December 2006. Prior to joining Lamprell, Hand worked for a major construction company in the UK. He has a bachelor's degree and a post graduate diploma from the College of Estate Management and an MBA from the Edinburgh Business School. Additionally, Peter Whitbread will not seek re-election to the company's board at the Annual General Meeting on June 7, 2010. He retires by rotation at the time of the meeting and has decided to retire from the company at that time. He has been with Lamprell since 1992, serving as CEO and chairman at the time of the IPO, then as CEO and more recently as director of international development.
Looney retires Goodrich Petroleum CFO post
David R. Looney has retired from his position as executive vice president and CFO of Goodrich Petroleum to pursue other opportunities. He has been serving as a consultant for the company to assist with the transition process. Effective March 31, 2010, Jan L. Schott was appointed interim CFO. Schott has served the company as vice president and controller since January 2007.
