Bendine elected as Petrobras’ chief executive officer
The board of Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) has approved the election of Alde Mir Bendine as the company’s chief executive officer.
The result of his election will stand until the next shareholders’ general meeting, Petrobras says. Bendine previously served as chief executive officer of Banco do Brasil.
He will take over the role from Maria das Gracas Silva Foster, who last week resigned along with five other senior executives amid a corruption scandal (OGJ Online, Feb. 4, 2014). She will also leave the company’s board.
Several other executives were elected as well, including Solange da Silva Guedes, who will take over for Jose Miranda Formigli Filho as exploration and production director. She currently serves as manager of corporate E&P.
Jorge Celestino Ramos will take over for Jose Carlos Cosenza as downstream director. Ramos currently serves as executive manager of downstream logistics.
