AFE Oil & Gas Consultants, Dallas, plans to spud an offset in June near its 1 Callejo (see photos), near the northwest corner of Dallas County and the county's first commercial production. It flowed 1.97 MMcfd of 966 BTU gas on a 14/64 in. choke with 1,569 psi FTP from perforations at 8,178-8,490 ft. CAOF is 15.35 MMcfd. A gas transmission line crosses the lease.
The nearest Barnett gas production is 12 miles west in Newark East field. That field, mostly in Wise County, has produced 90.98 bcf of gas, 106,973 bbl of condensate, and 2.09 million bbl of water from Barnett shale since discovery in 1981, reports Petroleum Information/Dwights LLC, Houston.
AFE has permits for the 2 Callejo, a 1,500 ft north-northwest offset, and the 1 Adams, both in northwestern Dallas County. The wells are in rapidly developing commercial and residential areas just north of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
South-southwest of AFE's work, Chevron USA Inc., Houston, has staked the 1 Mildred, 4 miles north of Grandview in Johnson County. It is projected to 9,500 ft.
Mercury Exploration Inc., Fort Worth, has drilled the 1 Miles, in Johnson County just north of Cresson and near the Hood County line. Permitted depth is 6,900 ft.
