Earthmoves Ltd. Structural and Petroleum Geology Consultants, Virginia Water, Surrey, U.K., has named Ian Davison director. He will specialize in salt tectonics, South Atlantic tectonics and hydrocarbon prospectivity, with special emphasis on Brazil.

Davison previously was senior lecturer in structural geology at Royal Holloway, University of London.

Kvaerner, London, England, has named Jan. T. Jorgensen executive vice president, responsible for worldwide oil and gas activities.

Jorgensen previously was with Kongsberg Gruppen ASA, which has interests in the maritime, defense and aerospace industries. He has been CEO of the Kongsberg Group since 1987. Immediately prior to this, his career included a period of 10 years with Elektrisk Brueau A/S (now ABB in Norway), partly in Singapore.

Jorgensen is also currently chairman of Selmer ASA and other current directorships include Vital Forsikring ASA and Navia ASA. He will be based at the group's international headquarters in London.

William M. Cobb & Associates, Inc., Dallas, Tex., has named H.R. (Hal) Warner, Jr. a senior technical consultant. Warner has more than 27 years experience in both reservoir engineering assignments and assignments concerning the technical aspects of negotiations, hearings, arbitrations and litigation.

Nicholas C. (Nick) Duane has been named a senior reservoir engineer. Over his 25 years of experience, Duane has worked extensively on evaluating and implementing waterfloods, CO2 injection projects, infill drilling programs, pressure transient test programs, waterflood units, and acquisition and divestiture programs and helped in the development of DOE's BOAST reservoir simulator.

Donald L. Bailey has been named vice president of geosciences. Bailey has been with the firm since 1996.

McDermott International, Inc., New Orleans, La., has named Joe B. Foster, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Newfield Exploration Co., to the company's board of directors.

Foster founded Newfield in 1989. The company is an independent oil producer, exploring for and acquiring oil and gas reserves primarily in the Gulf of Mexico.

Previously, Foster was chairman of Tenneco Oil Co. and executive vice president and director of its parent, Tenneco Inc. He was with Tenneco for 31 years and also served as chairman of the Tenneco Gas Pipeline Group.

Foster currently serves as chairman of the National Petroleum Council, an industry advisory body to the U.S. Secretary of Energy, and in 1995-1996 served as chairman of the Offshore Committee of the Independent Petroleum Association of America. He is a director of Memorial Hermann Hospital System and has served as chairman of the Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Greater Houston YMCA, and the Texas A&M Development Foundation.

He also serves on the boards of Baker Hughes Inc. and New Jersey Resources Corp.

McDermott International, Inc. is a worldwide energy services company. The company and its subsidiaries manufacture steam-generating equipment, environmental equipment, and products for the U.S. government. They also provide engineering and construction services for industrial, utility, and hydrocarbon processing facilities, and to the offshore oil and natural gas industry.

BJ Services Co., Aberdeen Scotland, has named Kent Schwarz operations manager of BJ Tubular Services-Nigeria. He oversees all aspects of regional operations and business development, and has been instrumental in the division's recent entry into West Africa.

Schwarz has more than 35 years experience in the oilfield service industry, including 14 years experience in seven countries outside of North America. He has an in-depth knowledge of tubular casing and running, and onshore completion services.

Prior to his promotion, Schwarz served for nearly two years as regional manager for The Americas on behalf of Weatherford, and for seven years with Milchem overseeing operations in the Middle East and Far East. Based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, Schwarz reports to Neil Gordon, general manager of BJ Tubular and Completion Services.

BJ Tubular Services specializes in personnel and equipment for running casing and tubing, particularly premium connections, high chrome content tubulars, dual, triple and sub-sea completions, as well as hammer conductor driving services. The tubular division is known throughout the world for its innovative technology.

With its headquarters in Aberdeen, Scotland, the division also operates bases in the Far East and Europe where it holds significant contracts with major operators, alliance partners and drilling contractors.
