State-owned YPF SA signed a $75-million deal with Compañía General de Combustibles SA (CGC) for hydrocarbon exploration in the Aguada del Chañar unconventional exploration concession in Argentina’s Neuquén province.
Through the deal, reported as a translation of letter to the Argentine Securities Commission dated Mar. 21, 2025, CGC will acquire a 49% interest in the Vaca Muerta joint venture. YPF will hold 51% interest and will serve as operator.
CGC also will pay, on behalf and at the request of YPF, 80.40% of the investments attributable to YPF’s percentage interest in the block for a period of 4 years, subject to certain unspecified maximum annual and monthly amounts, the operator said.
