Petronas Carigali Sdn. Bhd. has signed production sharing contracts (PSCs) and technical evaluation agreements (TEAs) for areas offshore Malaysia.
PSCs SB306A and SB306B, off the coast of Sabah, were awarded to a consortium comprised of Petronas, INPEX Malaysia E&P SB306A Sdn. Bhd., and SMJ Energy Sdn. Bhd. under the Malaysia Bid Round (MBR) 2024.
This signing brings the total to 14 new PSCs signed under MBR 2024, including MBR+, involving 12 different operators. These contracts encompass 11 discovered resource opportunities (DRO) and three exploration blocks.
Petronas has also signed technical evaluation agreements (TEAs) for Langkasuka basin in the Straits of Malacca between Sumatra and peninsular Malaysia and Layang-Layang basin off the coast of Sabah. These agreements are in partnerships with bp, Eni, INPEX, Pertamina, PTTEP, and TotalEnergies.
