VMOS lets EMCm contract for Vaca Muerta

VMOS SA let an EPCm contract to Técnicas Reunidas for development of the Vaca Muerta project in central Argentina.

VMOS SA has let an engineering, procurement, and construction management services (EPCm) contract to Técnicas Reunidas for development of the Vaca Muerta project extending over 30,000 sq km across several provinces in central Argentina.

The contract includes EPCm of a hydrocarbon storage and dispatch terminal that will be in Punta Colorada on the coast of the province of Río Negro. The terminal will have storage capacity of 600,000 cu m and will be divided into five tanks. Its dispatch capacity will be 62,000 cu m/d by means of two monobuoys that will be able to load very large crude carriers (VLCC). 

The contract will amount to about $440 million, of which more than $70 million will correspond to engineering and project management services. Commercial operations will start July 2027.

VMOS, in which YPF, Vista Energy Argentina SAU, Pampa Energía SA, and Pan American Sur SA have a stake, is responsible for the entire development of the Vaca Muerta project and infrastructure.
