TotalEnergies lets contracts for GranMorgu development offshore Suriname
TotalEnergies has let contracts to advance development of its newly sanctioned GranMorgu project on Block 58, the first oil and gas development offshore Suriname.
TechnipFMC’s contract scope for the integrated engineering, procurement, construction, and installation award includes subsea tree systems, manifolds, connectors, and topside control equipment, the company said in a release Nov. 14. TechnipFMC will also supply umbilicals, flexible jumpers, and flexible risers.
TechnipFMC’s portion of the project, which it values at more than $1 billion, will combine its subsea architecture with Saipem’s EPCI solutions and pipelay capabilities, the service provider said.
TotalEnergies also let a contracts to SBM Offshore, the service provider said in a separate release. SBM Offshore will, in partnership with Technip Energies, construct and install a floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO). The award follows completion of front-end engineering and design studies. The FPSO, with an expected production capacity of up to 220,000 b/d of oil and associated gas treatment capacity of up to 500 MMcfd, will be spread moored in water depth of about 400 m. It will be able to store around 2 million bbl of crude oil.
SBM Offshore is expected to operate the FPSO under an operations and maintenance agreement.
TotalEnergies and partners reached a positive final investment decision (FID) for the project in October (OGJ Online, Oct. 1, 2024). GranMorgu will include production from the Krabdagu and Sapakara oil discoveries, where an appraisal drilling campaign completed in 2023 confirmed gross estimated recoverable resources of more than 750 million bbl of oil. First oil is expected in 2028.
