Aramco lets engineering contract to Wood

Saudi Aramco let a contract to Wood for a mega-project aimed at increasing Saudi Arabia's natural gas production.

Saudi Aramco has let an engineering services contract to Wood for Aramco’s southern and northern areas gas increments project, which aims to increase Saudi Arabia’s natural gas production.  

Wood will deliver project management consultancy (PMC) services, including Pre-FEED and FEED engineering for gas infrastructure in Eastern Saudi Arabia including large-scale onshore gas production and processing infrastructure, the service company said in a release. The scope also includes EPC contracting support for future phases, Wood said. 

The 7-year project will peak at over 400 Wood employees, primarily in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia;  Reading, United Kingdom; and Chennai, India.
