Petrobras to acquire Orange basin deepwater stake

Petrobras agreed to acquire from TotalEnergies a 10% stake in the Deep Western Orange Basin block in South Africa.

Petrobras agreed to acquire from TotalEnergies a 10% stake in the Deep Western Orange Basin (DWOB) block offshore South Africa after receiving approval from its board of directors.

The 3,000 sq km block borders Namibia to the north and PEL 39, areas of discoveries by TotalEnergies, Shell, Galp Energia SGPS SA, and Africa Oil Corp. (OGJ Online, Aug. 27, 2024, OGJ Online, Nov. 27, 2023). 

TotalEnergies is operator of the DWOB block with 40% interest. Partners are QatarEnergy (30%), Sezigyn Pty. (20%), and Petrobras (10%).
