Turkish Petroleum extends contract to include country’s first FPU installation

Turkish Petroleum OTC extended a contract with Subsea 7 SA and the Subsea Integration Alliance to include installation of Turkey’s first FPU.

Turkish Petroleum OTC has awarded a contract extension to Subsea 7 SA and the Subsea Integration Alliance to include installation of Turkey’s first floating production unit (FPU) as part of the second phase of Sakarya field development, offshore Turkey, in the Black Sea.

An initial contract was awarded in May 2023 to a consortium including SLB, Subsea Integration Alliance and Saipem for the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation for phase two of the ongoing development of Turkey’s first deepwater gas field (OGJ Online, May 22, 2023).

Subsea7’s scope will include the installation and integration of risers, umbilicals, hook-ups and mooring systems with the FPU. Project management and engineering will be coordinated through the Subsea7 office in Istanbul, Turkey.

Subsea7 places a value on the contract of $300-$500 million.
