HOUSTON, Feb. 17 -- Woodside Petroleum Ltd. appointed Don Voelte as managing director and CEO of Woodside Group. Keith Spence was appointed chief operating officer of Woodside Energy Ltd.
Voelte will begin his job with Woodside on Apr. 5 and will be based in Perth. He was CEO of Chroma Energy, a private exploration and production company specializing in proprietary seismic pattern recognition technology. Previously, he worked with Atlantic Richfield Co. and, before that, he was with Mobil Corp. for 22 years.
Spence has been acting CEO of Woodside's oil business unit since the September 2003 departure of former managing director and CEO John Akehurst. In his new role, Spence will be responsible for Woodside Energy's oil and gas operations and for developing projects.
