Cooper Energy Ltd., Adelaide, has reached a natural gas sales agreement with EnergyAustralia to extend the domestic supply term under the existing Sole gas agreement.
Cooper will supply five petajoules/year of natural gas for 3 years from Sole field in Bass Strait, beginning in January 2026.
In this year’s third quarter, Sole gas production processed through the Orbost gas processing plant was 4.2 petajoules, 1% lower than the prior quarter, impacted by plant variability arising from the Orbost improvement project, Cooper Energy said in a late October earnings report.
Overall, oil and gas production for the quarter was 5.51 petajoules equivalent, 3% higher than the prior quarter, mainly due to increased uptime at the Athena Gas Plant and increased production from the Cooper basin following connection of the Callawonga-23 well.
