Trident Energy has extended the field decommissioning contract let to Helix Energy Solutions Group Inc. by an additional 12 months. The project, offshore Brazil in the Pampo and Enchova clusters in the Campos basin, is expected to begin late 2022 for a period of 2 years with multiple options to extend (OGJ Online, Feb. 20, 2022).

Helix will provide a riser-based well intervention vessel—either the Siem Helix 1 or Siem Helix 2—a 10 k Intervention riser system, project management and engineering services and, in conjunction with Helix’s subsea services alliance partner Schlumberger, fully integrated plug and abandonment well services.

The clusters include Enchova, Enchova Oeste, Marimbá, Piraúna, Bicudo, Bonito, Pampo, Trilha, Linguado, and Badejo fields where Trident is operator with 100% interest. The company owns and operates four platforms in the Campos basin—PCE-1, P-65, P-08, and PPM1.
