Cairn Energy PLC has changed its name to Capricorn Energy PLC, effective Dec. 13. The LSE stock ticker remains as CNE.
This follows an agreement at the time of the Cairn India IPO that the name would ultimately be changed and reflects “continuity and evolution” as the majority of Cairn’s subsidiaries have been known as Capricorn for some time, the company said.
The company’s production, development, and exploration activities are focused on Egypt, with further exploration activities in the UK North Sea, West Africa, and Latin America.
