International trading company Vitol has established Vencer Energy LLC to acquire mature, producing oil and gas assets, with a specific focus on key basins in the US Lower 48. It will be led by industry veteran Don Dotson as president and chief executive officer (CEO).
Before accepting the position at Vencer, Dotson was president and CEO of Sable Bay Energy and president and chief operating officer of Plantation Petroleum.
A combine of Eni SPA and Vitol last year was awarded rights to Block WB03 in Tano basin offshore Ghana. The block, in medium deep water, was offered in Ghana’s first international competitive bid round covering areas in 100-4,400 m of water (OGJ Online, July 3, 2019).
