Repsol Norge ASA has let a fishing, milling and wellbore cleaning services contract to Archer Ltd. for Gyda oil and gas platform when operations begin in January 2021. This contract makes Archer the sole provider of all downhole services on the Gyda P&A Campaign with a scope of 14 wells left to plug and abandon.
Repsol is decommissioning the platform in Block 2/1 of the North Sea. The Gyda platform is in 66 m water depth between Ula and Ekofisk fields and had been on production for nearly 3 decades. Decommissioning is estimated to cost $623.8 million and expected to finish in 2023.
