TotalEnergies discovers additional resources at Harald field
TotalEnergies has discovered additional resources at Harald field in the Danish North Sea. The Harald East Middle Jurassic step-out exploration well (HEMJ-1X) encountered additional gas condensate resources in the field in shallow waters, 250 km off the west coast of Denmark.
The well was drilled in the Eastern part of Harald field and encountered 48 m of net gas condensate pay in a good quality reservoir. The well will be immediately connected to the Harald platform and is expected to start producing before yearend through existing Harald and Tyra infrastructure, the operator said in a release Oct. 29.
Preliminary results from the well are promising and the volume potential will be further assessed when the well is on production, partner BlueNord said in a separate release Oct. 29.
The well was spudded this summer by the Shelf Drilling Winner jackup rig in the Harald East area, close to the Norwegian border. Gas will be exported through the Tyra East platform. At the time the well spudded, BlueNord said it expected gain from the well of up to 8 MMboe net to BlueNord of which about 80% is expected to be gas.
TotalEnergies is operator of the Danish Underground Consortium with a 43.2% interest. Joint venture partners are BlueNord ASA (36.8%) and Nordsøfonden (20%).
