TotalEnergies lets framework agreements to advance Ratawi field redevelopment in Iraq
TotalEnergies has awarded two new engineering and procurement framework agreements to consulting and engineering firm Wood to advance Ratawi field development in Iraq.
The agreements, worth $11 million, were awarded by TotalEnergies EP Ratawi Hub as part of the Gas Growth Integrated Project (GGIP), a multi-energy project designed to enhance the development of Iraq’s natural resources and improve the country’s electricity supply at Ratawi field in Iraq, Wood said in a release Apr. 22.
Each contract has a 3-year term under which Wood will support TotalEnergies to advance the Associated Gas Upstream Project (AGUP), one of four GGIP subprojects. The aim is to debottleneck and upgrade existing infrastructure to increase energy production capacity to 120,000 b/d of oil on completion of the first phase. A second phase calls for an increase to 210,000 b/d through construction of a new plant.
Wood is already providing engineering design, detailed design, procurement support, and construction and commissioning assistance for the first phase of the AGUP (OGJ Online, June 12, 2024).
Earlier this year, TotalEnergies started construction of an initial gas treating unit as part of the larger gas processing plant under the first-phase development of the GGIP’s Ar-Ratawi Gas Midstream Project (GMP), another of GGIP’s four subprojects (OGJ Online, Jan. 10, 2025).
The GGIP project is led by a consortium comprising TotalEnergies (45%), Basrah Oil Co. (30%) and QatarEnergy (25%) (OGJ Online, Jan. 19, 2024).
