ExxonMobil project adds pre-commissioning contract for One Guyana FPSO
ExxonMobil contractor SBM Offshore has signed EnerMech to carry out pre-commissioning work on the One Guyana FPSO for Guyana Deepwater Operations, SBM Offshore’s subsidiary in Guyana. The FPSO is set to arrive in Guyanese waters this year.
ExxonMobil subsidiary Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Ltd. awarded the front-end engineering and design contract to SBM Offshore in 2021.
EnerMech and SBM Offshore delivered work for all three FPSOs currently producing in the field: Liza Destiny, Liza Unity, and Prosperity.
The One Guyana FPSO, for ExxonMobil Guyana’s Yellowtail development project, is designed to produce about 250,000 b/d of oil, with an associated gas treatment capacity of about 450 MMcfd, and a water injection capacity of about 300,000 b/d (OGJ Online, Nov. 17, 2021). It will be spread-moored in water depth of 1,800 m and will have the capacity to store around 2 million bbl of crude oil.
Under the pre-commissioning contract, EnerMech will execute critical operations including offshore risers leak testing, gas injection riser de-watering, umbilical electrical and fiber optic testing, along with the installation of interconnecting tubing and flushing and testing equipment.
The final module lifts at Seatrium’s Singapore shipyard were performed by SBM Offshore in September 2024. Integration activities are completed and project teams are finalizing commissioning activities. First oil is expected in second-half 2025.
