bp to survey Shah Deniz

bp plc is expected to perform seismic exploration at Shah Deniz field offshore Azerbaijan this year.

bp plc will perform a seismic exploration program at Shah Deniz field offshore Azerbaijan in the South Caspian Sea in 2025. 

In addition to the seismic surveys, bp intends to drill and complete several wells from the Bravo platform as part of Stage 2 of the field’s development by 2027, according to news agency Interfax. 

At the end of third-quarter 2024, 21 of 26 planned wells had been drilled as part of the project’s second stage. Five wells were on the northern flank, four on the western flank, four on the southeastern flank, five on the southwestern flank, and three on the northeastern flank.

Gas and condensate production at the field is currently produced at Alpha platform for Stage 1 and Bravo platform for Stage 2. 

Bp is operator at Shah Deniz (29.99%) with partners Lukoil (19.99%), TPAO (19%), Cenub Qaz Dehlizi (16.02%), NICO (10%), and MVM (5%).
