HOUSTON, Jan. 13 -- Apache Northwest Pty. Ltd., Perth, which drilled the Fiddich-1 well on behalf of Origin Energy Ltd., Perth, operator of exploration permit WA-226-P off Western Australia, has plugged and abandoned the well that it spudded in late 2004 (OGJ Online, Dec. 7, 2004).

Fiddich-1 encountered about 70 m of good quality but water-bearing Permian sandstone at the target horizon, said partner Dana Petroleum PLC, Aberdeen. Dana was carried on all costs relating to the Fiddich well in accordance with the terms of a farm-out agreement agreed earlier in 2004 with partner Voyager Energy Ltd., also of Perth. Other investors in the well are Roc Oil Ltd., Sydney, and Wandoo Petroleum Pty. Ltd.
