China launches offshore bid round

China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) has placed eight exploration blocks offshore China up for bid. The blocks cover a total of 18,464 sq km.

China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) has placed eight exploration blocks offshore China up for bid. The blocks cover a total of 18,464 sq km.  

One block is in Donghai basin with covering 4,000 sq km, five blocks are in Pearl River Mouth basin covering 12,793 sq km, one block is in Beibu Bay basin covering 1,077 sq km, and one block is in Qiongdongnan basin covering 594 sq km.

The data room open period runs until Nov. 30, 2023. Deadline for bids is Jan. 31, 2024.
