Tailwind Energy Ltd. has taken a step forward in its pursuit to develop Evelyn field in the Triton area of the UK Central North Sea with an environmental statement presenting the findings of an environmental impact assessment submitted to the Secretary of State for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy. Public consultation on the plans is underway.

The first phase of development will consist of a single well, subsea tie-back to the Dana Petroleum Ltd.-operated Triton FPSO, with first oil expected by the end of 2022. A final investment decision is expected this year, conditional upon approval of the environmental statement.

Evelyn field was discovered by Shell in 1984 in Block 21/30f about 6km south of the Triton FPSO. The Triton Area consists of six producing oil fields developed via common infrastructure 190 km east of Aberdeen in water depths of 90 m.

The six fields currently producing oil and gas via the Triton FPSO are Bittern, Guillemot West, Guillemot Northwest, Clapham, Pict, and Saxon. Dana Petroleum and Endeavour Energy Ltd. are partners in the Triton cluster. Along with the FPSO, Dana operates Clapham, Saxon, Pict, Guillemot West, and Bittern fields. Tailwind is operator of Gannet E, with Dana as pipeline operator and Petrofac as well operator. Tailwind operates the Belinda/Evelyn discoveries with Petrofac as well operator.
