Equinor Energy AS has been granted a drilling permit by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate for wells 15/3-12 S and 15/3-12 A in production license 025 in the North Sea.
The area in the license consists of a part of Block 15/3. The well will be drilled about 4 km south of the 15/3-4 (Sigrun) discovery by the West Phoenix drilling facility after concluding drilling in the UK sector.
Equinor is operator with 36%. Partners are Neptune Energy Norge AS, 25%; OMV (Norge) AS, 24%; and Repsol Norge AS, 15%.
These are the tenth and eleventh exploration wells to be drilled in the license.
