TotalEnergies let another front-end-engineering design contract to Petrofac for the Aramis CO2 transport and sequestration project.

TotalEnergies Nederland BV has let a CO2 platform front-end-engineering design (FEED) contract to Petrofac Ltd. for the Aramis CO2 transport and sequestration project.

The project involves the decommissioning of topsides and installation of a new repurposed platform connecting to the Aramis CO2 distribution network. The award follows a FEED contract let to Petrofac in June covering the ongoing design of the 32-in. CO2 trunkline, including onshore, landfall, and offshore sections, together with the offshore CO2 distribution hub platform for the Aramis system.

Aramis, a joint development by TotalEnergies SE, Shell PLC, Energie Beheer Nederland, and NV Nederlandse Gasunie, seeks to capture CO2 from industrial clusters, transporting it for permanent storage in depleted offshore gas fields under the North Sea (OGJ Online, June 4, 2024).
