Trailblazer CO2 Pipeline, operated by Tallgrass Energy, is holding a binding open season for shipments on its proposed 10-million tpy Trailblazer Conversion Project.
Trailblazer CO2 Pipeline LLC, operated by Tallgrass Energy LP, is holding a binding open season for shipments on its proposed 10-million tonne/year Trailblazer Conversion Project. Carbon dioxide (CO2) would be captured in Nebraska and shipped to eastern Wyoming for sequestration at a Denver-Julesburg basin site being developed by Tallgrass.
The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission last year approved “abandonment” of 392 miles of Trailblazer as a natural gas pipeline for the purpose of converting it to CO2 service (OGJ Online, Dec. 4, 2023).
The open season began May 3, 2024, and will run for 3 weeks.
The sequestration site is partially funded by a grant from the Wyoming Energy Authority.
