CNOOC starts production at Wushi oilfield project

CNOOC Ltd. started production at the Wushi 17-2 Oilfields Development Project in Beibu Gulf off the coast of southern China.

CNOOC Ltd. started production at the Wushi 17-2 oilfields development project in Beibu Gulf off the coast of southern China and northern Vietnam in about 28 m of water.

The main production infrastructure includes a new wellhead platform and an oil and gas processing terminal. A total of 43 development wells are planned to be commissioned, including 28 production wells, 14 water-injection wells, and one appraisal and water source well. The light crude oil project is expected to achieve a peak production of about 9,900 boe/d.

CNOOC is operator with 80% interest.
