ADNOC JV starts production from Belbazem block
Al Yasat Petroleum Operations Co. Ltd. started crude oil production from Belbazem offshore block, 120 km northwest of the city of Abu Dhabi.
Belbazem consists of offshore fields Belbazem, Umm Al Salsal, and Umm Al Dholou. Production capacity at the block is set to progressively ramp up to 45,000 b/d of light crude and 27 MMscfd of associated gas, ADNOC said in a release.
Belbazem block uses an AI tool to analyze reservoir data and manage operations and will integrate advanced technologies already deployed at Al Yasat’s Bu Haseer offshore field to optimize production and reservoir management.
The block is leveraging operational synergies by utilizing infrastructure of Satah Al Razboot (SARB), an offshore field operated by ADNOC Offshore, resulting in cost savings and reduced environmental impact, the comany said.
Al Yasat is a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) and joint venture with China National Petroleum Corp. ADNOC and CNPC hold 60% and 40% stakes in Al Yasat, respectively (OGJ Online, May 25, 2021).
