Angus Energy plans Saltfleetby reconnection
Angus Energy plc plans to restart Saltfleetby gas field in PEDL005 license onshore UK in East Lincolnshire at the western extent of the Humber basin between October of this year and January 2021.News comes as independent energy consultancy Oilfield International reported proved and probable (2P) field reserves of net to Angus of 16 bcf with 97,000 bbl condensate and 10 bcf mean contingent resources.
Wells SF2 and SF4 are ready to produce gas upon commissioning of the process plant and grid connection and drilling of a horizontal sidetrack from the existing SF5 well—planned for the first half of 2021—is expected to increase total production to about 10 MMscfd about 6 months after first gas.
Saltfleetby was put on stream in December 1999 producing from Early Westphalian sandstones at a depth of 2,300 m. In total, eight wells and several sidetracks have been drilled since production first commenced with seven completed and licensed for production. Gas is transported via pipeline to the National Grid entry point at NTS Theddlethorpe. In 2018 the Theddlethorpe Gas Terminal ceased operation, stranding Saltfleetby. In June 2019 Angus acquired 51% working interest and operatorship in the field.
In June 2019, Angus signed a conditional Farmin Agreement with Wingas Storage (UK)
Ltd. (now Saltfleetby Energy Ltd.) to acquire a 51% interest in Saltfleetby and its share in the associated blocks. Saltfleetby was formerly the UK’s largest onshore gas field.
