Medco begins production at South Natuna Sea Block B

Medco delivered first gas from its West Belut project in South Natuna Sea Block B west of Borneo.

Medco E&P Natuna Ltd. delivered first gas from its West Belut project in South Natuna Sea Block B west of Borneo, the company said in a release Sept. 11.

Block B covers 11,155 sq km in 250-320 ft of water. The field was discovered end-2020 and underwent rapid development starting in 2022. The unmanned platform is powered 100% by solar photovoltaic cells, the company said.

Medco is operator at Block B (40%) with partners Medco Daya Abadi Lestarti (35%) and Prime Natuna Inc. (25%).
