Trillion Energy International Inc. has increased production via workovers at SASB natural gas field in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea.

Trillion Energy International Inc. has increased production via workovers at SASB natural gas field in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea.

In the workover's first phase, all remaining gas pay on the Akcakoca platform was perforated including Guluc-2, South Akcakoca-2, and West Akcakoca-1 long reach deviated gas wells and the Akcakoca-3 recompleted legacy well, all drilled in the 2022-23. The wells began production over a staggered period from July 9 to July 28 and have produced 140 MMcf.

South Akcakoca-2 has been producing for 36 days, stabilizing at about 2.75 MMcfd. Guluc-2 has produced for over 3 weeks with an average production of 2.0 MMcfd. It now produces at a stable rate of about 1.25 MMcfd. West Akcakoca-1 has produced an average of 0.60 MMcfd for over 2 weeks with some irregularities and has not yet stabilized. Akcakoca-3 was perforated and although gas flow did not initially occur, well head pressure has steadily increased to 478 psi from 100 psi and is anticipated to begin producing soon.

The results indicate that decreasing the production tubing size to 2 3/8 in. from 4 1/2 in. using velocity strings stabilized gas production at targeted rates (OGJ Online, May 24, 2024).

Gas production from the Akcakoca Platform has averaged 4.6 MMcfd since the perforation program concluded.

Trillion Energy owns 49% of SASB.
