Chesapeake Energy Corp., Oklahoma City, let a contract to Strategy Engineering & Consulting LLC, Houston, for the design of a central production unit in the Eagle Ford shale.
Strategy’s scope includes project management, engineering, design, construction management, commissioning, and start-up of the San Pedro sweet-oil unit, which is being designed for 30,000 bo/d and is to start up in this year’s third quarter.
The company is working with Chesapeake on full field development of its Faith Ranch acquisition, part of the Eagle Ford shale in Dimmit, Maverick, and Webb counties of South Texas, according to Strategy project manager Kris Stewart.
The announcement comes as Chesapeake is completing midstream divestitures in the Eagle Ford and other shale plays that would net the company up to $4.9 billion (OGJ Online, Dec. 12, 2012).
