Equinor takes delivery of Johan Sverdrup Phase 2 platform jacket

Equinor ASA took delivery from Aker Solutions ASA of a jacket for Phase 2 of the Johan Sverdrup field, Norway. Three platform jackets had previously been delivered for Phase 1.

Equinor ASA took delivery from Aker Solutions ASA of a jacket for Phase 2 of Johan Sverdrup field, Norway. Three platform jackets had previously been delivered for Phase 1. With this new jacket, four out of a total of five jackets have been built and delivered from Aker Solutions’ yard in Verdal, Norway. Aker Solutions has also delivered a topside and large module for the field from Stord, Norway.

Johan Sverdrup is the third largest oil field on the Norwegian continental shelf, with expected recoverable reserves of 2.7 billion boe. In January, Equinor and partners agreed to increase the field's production capacity (OGJ Online, Jan. 28, 2021).

 Equinor is operator (42.6%) with partners Lundin Energy Norway (20%), Petoro (17.36%), Aker BP (11.57%), and TotalEnergies SE (8.44%).
