CNOOC begins Beibu Gulf infill drilling

A COSL-owned drilling rig has been mobilized to the WZ12-8W platform for a one well campaign. This well will produce an estimated 500 b/d of oil and recover an incremental 0.4 million bbl. 
  • CNOOC has spudded an infill well on Block 22/12, Beibu Gulf, People’s Republic of China. 
  • The well is expected to produce about 500 b/d of oil and recover an incremental 0.4 million bbl. 

CNOOC began the 2025 infill drilling operation in Block 22/12, Beibu Gulf, People’s Republic of China said partner Horizon Oil (Beibu) Ltd. in an Apr. 28 release.

CNOOC is operator at Block 22/12 (51.00%) with partners Horizon Oil (26.95%), Roc Oil (19.60%), and Oil Australia Pty Ltd. (2.45%).
