Invictus Energy Ltd. extended a contract to Exalo Drilling SA for the Cabora Bassa Project in Zimbabwe.

Exalo Rig 202’s contract will be extended for 2 years to remain in Cabora Bassa basin to drill and test future wells. Positive results from Invictus’s drilling programs will keep Rig 202 stacked at Mukuyu-2 post completion of drilling operations whilst preparations are made for future drilling and testing campaigns (OGJ Online, Nov. 20, 2023). During the rig stacking period, Exalo will undertake maintenance on Rig 202 in preparation for future drilling or well testing activity in the basin.

Cabora Bassa basin lies onshore in the Zambezi Valley in Muzarabani, 300 km northeast of Harare. The 250,000-acre SG 4571 license is in its second exploration period which runs to June 2024. Prospective resources are 20 tcf of gas and 845 million bbl of conventional gas-condensate.
