Equinor granted consent for Norwegian Sea drilling

Equinor Energy AS has been granted consent by the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway for exploration drilling in the 398 sq-km Block 6605/1 in the Norwegian Sea.

Equinor Energy AS has been granted consent by the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway for exploration drilling in the 398 sq-km Block 6605/1 in the Norwegian Sea.

The operator plans to drill wells 6605/1-U-1, 6605/1-2 S, and 6605/1-2 A (Obelix Upflank prospect) in production license 1128 in water depth of 1,190 m using the Deepsea Stavanger semisubmersible drilling rig.

Equinor is operator of the license with 70% interest. Partners are Petoro AS (20%) and Wintershall Dea Norge AS (10%).
