SDX Energy PLC spudded the MSD-25 infill development well on Meseda field. The well is the second in a fully funded 12-well development campaign on Meseda and Rabul oil fields in the West Gharib concession, Egyptian Eastern Desert.
The campaign is aimed at growing production to 3,500-4,000 b/d by early 2023 from current gross rates of 2,100 b/d.
The well spudded Jan. 23 and is targeting the Asl formation reservoir at 3,250 ft TVDSS. It is estimated that the well will take around 6 weeks to drill, complete, and tie-in to existing infrastructure.
MSD-25 is expected to come on-line and produce at around 300 b/d gross.
The first well in the campaign, MSD-21, has been tied-in and is on production. MSD-21 is currently cleaning-up and should reach its expected production rate of around 300 b/d gross in the coming weeks.
SDX hold 50% working interest in the well.
