Vår Energi secures rig for Barents Sea drilling

Vår Energi has secured the COSLProspector drilling rig for a 2-year drilling program in the Barents Sea region.

The rig contract with COSL Offshore Management AS builds on a cooperation between Vår Energi and Equinor Energy AS that will secure access for the companies to the COSLProspector drilling rig for the period 2024-2026, with an option for an additional 3 years, Var Energi said in a release Aug. 31.  

Vår Energi will drill exploration wells, appraisal wells, along with certain production wells, over a 2-year period starting in second-half 2024.
